Job Posting – Applications and job description are available in the Town Office for the position of Town Secretary/Assistant to the Selectmen/Planning Board Secretary. This is a 15 hours per week position. Applications will be accepted through July 31.
July 24 – A Public Benefit Supper to benefit the Sumner Food Bank will be held at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School. It will begin at 5:30 PM and donations are requested for the meal.

Transfer Station Hours – Please note a change in the hours of operation for the Transfer Station. They will now be open 8 AM – 5 PM year round.
Summer Road Work – The following roads are scheduled to have work done on them throughout the summer months: Bradeen Road, Black Mountain Road, and Upper Sumner Hill Road. For more information, please call Road Commissioner Jim Keach at 388-2636.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 424 River Road in Lewiston will be open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from May – November for collections. It will be open from 8 AM – noon. A flyer is available at the Town Office listing what items are accepted and what items are not accepted. There are some very specific guidelines, so it would be worth your time to stop in and get a flyer!
Transfer Station permit stickers – the stickers are always available at the Town Office. Please be advised that without a permit sticker, you may be turned away at the Transfer Station!
Burn permits are now available on line! The website address is www.maineburnpermit.com There is, however, a $7 fee for obtaining your permit on line. You can still contact our local men and receive a permit at no cost.
When a friend is in trouble, don’t annoy
him by asking if there is anything you can do.
