Scholarship Fundraiser Upcoming Events:
September 20 – BBQ Cook Off Supper held at the West Sumner Universalist Church Vestry from 4:30-6:30. Cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 10 years old. Volunteers are needed to cook and donations are needed to buy supplies.
September – October – Calendar sales. Cost is $10 and daily drawings will be in October.

September 13 – Rabies Clinic at the Norway Fire Station 9 – 11 AM. $10 for domestic pets. Please bring proof of a previous rabies vaccination if you have one. Bring your pets on a leash or in a carrier, not loose. Microchipping also available.
Vacancies – The following positions are open for appointment: 2 Appeals Board members; 2-4 Ordinance Committee members; 1 full member and 2 alternate for the Planning Board. If you are interested in filling any of these vacancies, please submit a letter of interest or email to the attention of the Select Board.

Summer Road Work – The following roads are scheduled to have work done on them throughout the summer months: Bradeen Road, Black Mountain Road, and Upper Sumner Hill Road. For more information, please call Road Commissioner Jim Keach at 388-2636.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility at 424 River Road in Lewiston will be open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from May – November for collections. It will be open from 8 AM – noon. A flyer is available at the Town Office listing what items are accepted and what items are not accepted. There are some very specific guidelines, so it would be worth your time to stop in and get a flyer!
Transfer Station permit stickers – the stickers are always available at the Town Office. Please be advised that without a permit sticker, you may be turned away at the Transfer Station!
Burn permits are now available on line! The website address is www.maineburnpermit.com There is, however, a $7 fee for obtaining your permit on line. You can still contact our local men and receive a permit at no cost.
