The Town Office will be closed Saturday, September 5 for Labor Day weekend.

Tuell Hill Road will be closed Tuesday, September 8 at the intersection with Redding Road.  It is for the replacement of Twin Bridge over the Nezinscot River and will last about one month. 

The Scholarship Committee will be having their annual bottle drive on September 12.  Please leave bottles in bags by your mailbox or feel free to bring to the Town Office.       The Second Annual BBQ Cook-off Supper will be September 19 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the West Sumner Universalist Church Vestry.

The Town Office is looking for someone to clean 3 hours per week.  If interested, please call or stop into the town office.

Transfer Station permits – We have stickers available.  When registering a new-to-you vehicle, we will be happy to issue you a new sticker!

The Household Hazardous Waste Facility on 424 River Road in Lewiston is open the 1st and 3rd Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon through November (excluding holiday weekends).  We have flyers that list acceptable and non-acceptable items.  There are very specific guidelines so if going there you may want to come in and check them out.

Sumner Post Office, tel. 388-2066; the window hours are as follows:

Monday-Friday, 7-10 a.m. and 1:30-4:30 p.m.

Saturday, 8-11 a.m.

Zumba classes are being held at the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 p.m.  The first class is free and $4.00 after that.

Burn permits are available on-line.  See  There is a $7 fee for an on-line permit.  You can still contact our local firemen and receive a permit at no cost.

Property Record Cards are in the Planning Board Room in Map Order folders.  Tax maps and the Commitment Book are also in the Planning Board Room.  For copies or to see the working property cards, please ask in the Office.
